Using macleanup
The macleanup script is open source under the MIT licence. The macleanup desktop app runs that script and adds an account, plans and synced history. By using the app or this website, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.
Your files
macleanup deletes, moves or reports files only in the sections you choose. Each section states how its changes can be recovered. Permanent sections can only be undone from your own backup. You are responsible for reviewing the preview and keeping backups of anything you cannot recreate.
The assistant explains a preview in plain words. Its answers are guidance and can be wrong; the preview and each section's recovery tier are what decide what a run changes. A receipt backup is a copy of a receipt's summary, not a backup of your files.
Accounts
An account is optional. Keep your Google account secure; actions taken while signed in are treated as yours. We may suspend an account used to abuse the service, for example to bypass monthly limits on many devices.
Plans and billing
- Free includes a monthly number of real runs on each Mac and more when signed in. Previews and reports are unlimited on every plan.
- Pro and Team are billed monthly or yearly in advance through Polar. Team requires at least 3 seats.
- Prices and limits are shown on the pricing page before you pay. A price change applies from your next billing period.
- Each plan includes a monthly number of assistant questions and, on Pro and Team, a number of receipt backups. Both are shown on the pricing page.
- You can cancel any time. Your plan stays active to the end of the period you paid for.
- A plan given as a reward or grant runs to the date shown in your account and extends any paid plan; it never shortens one.
No refunds
All purchases are final. We do not offer refunds, credits or exchanges for any plan or billing period, including partly used periods and unused seats. If your bank or the payment provider reverses a payment, the plan time that payment covered ends at once.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. Continuing to use macleanup after a change means you accept the updated terms.
When an update is required, for example to fix a safety rule, the app, this website or the documentation may ask you to update before you continue. The app installs the update and relaunches; your receipts and settings stay.
Liability
macleanup is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, the macleanup team is not liable for lost data or other damage arising from its use. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law of your country that cannot be limited.
